Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering (BUIE)—yeah, that’s a mouthful—kicked off back in 1998 and can actually brag about being the first-ever engineering college in Bankura district, West Bengal.

The campus sprawls over 11 acres for classes and another 31 acres for hostels and living spaces. Not just some random setup—this place is TEQIP‑II funded, sports an ISO‑9001 certification, and actually tries to churn out both smart engineers and well-rounded humans.

BUIE is affiliated with MAKAUT (formerly WBUT) and carries all the official stamps—AICTE, West Bengal Government, and more.

The placement cell ropes in big names like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, BYJU’S, Piaggio, Rashmi Metallics, etc. They provide pre-placement training and industry tie-ups to prep students for the job market. Placement stats vary each year, but opportunities are plenty.

With 2,000+ students and 177 staff members, BUIE isn’t tiny. It’s a mix of old-school values and modern teaching methods. If you’re after an engineering degree that’s more than just lectures and lab reports, this place might be worth a look. Expect growth, opportunity, and a lot of chai-fueled late nights—what more do you need?
